Southern California chill-house producer (and head of his own label, SENTRALL) Rollmottle makes music for watching sunsets, drinking green tea, and reveling in your own deep laze. Despite the 109 mp3s you still need to download before week's end, there's no need to guilt out over such non-hurried lushness-- "Take A Break" lives up to its title and then some, with milky major-minor chords like Debussy used to do, easy-going shuffle beat, and just the slightest ripple from cosmic waves via the tangerine dreamy brush strokes across the outer edges of the mix. In another age, Rollmottle's music will probably be New Age, though if the field includes the vaguely erotic embrace of songs like this, I'm not going to care what they're called. The single also has a Maurice Fulton remix, though for sheer pillowy loveliness, there's no touching the original. Check it.

Diese Platte hätte schon vor gut einem Jahr auf Wax Records erscheinen sollen. In Los Angeles hat man sich allerdings eher dafür entschieden, den Laden und das zugehörige Label dicht zu machen. Rollmottle nimmt die Sache mit seinem Outlet Sentrall nun selbst in die Hand. "Take A Break" ist in der Vorlage ein verträumter balearischer Strandspaziergang, der wie das Wort "beautiful' aus dem Mund eines Franzosen klingt. Maurice Fulton dreht den Spieß und den Basslauf von Teena Maries "Behind The Groove" für seinen Remix um. Im Gegensatz zu den zickigen Mu-Produktionen, gibt es hier infektiösen Boogie, der das Originalthema von Rollmottle mit all den handelsüblichen Maurice-Fulton-Markenzeichen frisiert. Dieser Mann wird noch einmal die Welt retten. Check it
